Air conditioning components

Most times users and slang words for professional use in describing the components of air conditioning systems. If you want to understand what they are trying to say, you should learn these words.

Constant - this refers to a power outlet is always on. This ensures that the air system has a place to go in case someone turns all the other areas off. It can be located in a hallway or kitchen.

Swampy - the name of an evaporative cooler or evaporative cooling system. It can also be called a swamp cooler or cooler water. This is a big square box on the roof. It is used to cool the air passing over a body of water. It uses the evaporation of doing so.

Conduit / duct - a duct system is equipped with tubes that provide air conditioner. If a ductless air conditioner, which means it does not use a pipe to supply air.

Single phase / three phase power - this indicates the type of electricity in your home is powered. A single phase means that your system has a single cable, you can feed some air conditioning units. Three phase power uses three cables which means you can use a larger air conditioner.

Compressor - is the outdoor unit. It is the unit that compresses and expands the gas because of the effect of cooling and heating.

Fan coil - is the unit that blows air around your house. It's basically a box with a fan inside. It can be located on your roof if you've driven system reverse cycle air conditioning.

UPS - components of this short as an accelerator of a car. It slows down when the airflow is less necessary and accelerates when more capacity is needed. These units are somewhat more expensive to buy, but they work better and quieter.
